The heat and air system in my 1999 Catera does not work as it should. The cold air when working seems to be fine but the blower will stop sometimes for days then will work for days. The heater will not provide any hot air will the car is running but sitting still but will heat will pass thru the vent while on the road. On the road heat comes thru the upper vents but not the floor vents. The blower will sometimes blow hot air thru the vents and defroster for short periods of time, four to six minutes then the air turns cold. After turning the blower off for two or three minutes the process can be repeated for heat. The Cadillac dealer recommends a $900 complete heat/ac system replacement. I think the repair problem may be more simple and certainly much less expensive. What could be the problem?
