A 1995 Chevy S10 that might be pinging and a 2005 Chrysler 300 fog lights.
Question: Chevy S10 Pinging?Vince, I have a 1995 Chevy S10 with 80,000 miles and it is in very good condition. The question I have is that in the mornings when I start it up there is a pinging noise that lasts for about 3 to 5 minutes. After that it is gone but lately it has been getting louder in the mornings or when the engine is cold. After the engine warms up it goes away. I was thinking it may be the values or timing change. Do you have any suggestion. I have used you before when you were on about.com. I'm glad you sent out email notices that you moved. Please help me if you can. Thank you, Alvin Answer:It's hard for me to evaluate a noise when I can't hear it but from what you're describing it could be valve related. If it's a sound like marbles in a can it is probably detonation. I would check and adjust the ignition timing to the specification on the emission label on the fan shroud. Check to see which ignition system you have, standard DI or Enhanced Ignition. If it is the Enhanced Ignition system the timing is not adjustable. Question: Chrysler 300How do I replace the fog lamps on a 2005 Chrysler 300? Answer: That's a little question that needs a big answer. Unfortunately too big for me to answer here. I would suggest getting a Chilton Manual or go the public library's reference section for the MOTORS manual or a subscription to AllDataDIY.
