A Chevy, a Cadillac and a ChryslerA 2002 Chevy Cavalier, a 1999 Cadillac and a 2000 Chrysler 300MA Chevy Cavalier with sticking brakes, a 1999 Cadillac with transmission problems and a 2000 Chrysler 300M with an inoperative Remote Keyless Entry system.
Question: 2002 Chevy CavalierI bought a 2002 Chevy Cavalier and the back passenger brake sticks. I took it to the place where I got it and they cleaned and sanded the pads back there. And here I am, 3 months later, and it started again. When I hit the brakes the back tire sticks and it sounds like I ran over something (really loud noise). I have to drive and hit the brakes several times to get it unstuck. After it is unstuck it drives again normal UNTIL it sets again for a while. Please help me out. Jennifer Council Bluffs, IA Answer: You have drum brakes in the rear and I think what may be happening is the master cylinder may not be releasing the pressure to the rear brakes. I would check the brake hardware for the drum brakes to make sure the return springs are good and that the brakes are properly adjusted. The fact that the brake work seemed to repair the problem for a while would lead me to believe the problem is in the rear and not necessarily the brake master cylinder. I would bring it back to the place you bought it and see what they will do for you to resolve this problem. Question: 1999 CadillacHello Vincent: I have a 1999 Cadillac in which the dash light tells me something is wrong with my transmission. It shifts just fine and I have no noticeable problems with it. I took it to the dealer and he told me that they need to change the transmission. Is it possible that the sensor on the transmission could be bad? And where would it be located at? I'm sure not inside. Any assistance you can give me would be appreciated. Steve Housty Dyer, IN Answer:The fact that a warning light came on indicates the problem is electrical and not mechanical. There are a few electrical codes that could require the transmission to be rebuilt/replaced but without knowing the code that came up, I can't tell you if this is the case here. Question: 2000 Chrysler 300M2000 Chrysler 300M I replaced the batteries on my keyless entry device which stopped working, both of them, about two weeks ago. Any idea why this would have stopped working? I checked fuses and don't think one is out. Looks like there is a fuse or relay in the same fuse block area. Thanks for your help, Jim Day Answer: There is a TSB out on this problem and requires replacement of the RKE transmitter. I would take it to your Chrysler Dealer and let them confirm this. They may even cover it under warranty
