A Readers Question...

How to reset the Volvo Indicator light.

My mechanic has replaced the Oxygen Sensor but does not know how to reset the oxygen sensor light. Could you please give some information on how to reset it? We don't have a Volvo dealer in my area any longer.

Thank you...

Answer:

To reset the service indicator lamp (after replacing the O2 sensor), locate the mileage counter. A small speedometer cable runs from the back of the speedometer head to the black colored mileage counter, two red wires also go to the mileage counter from the back of instrument cluster. Remove the small retaining screw holding the reset button cover to the mileage counter. Press the large brass reset button and listen for a click. Restart the engine to ensure the indicator lamp stays off. Reinstall the reset button cover and screw.
